Today is the most auspicious Ekadashi day. We should observe Ekadashi without eating grains and constantly chant the Hare Krishna Mahamantra wholeheartedly in order to increase our devotion. This devotional practice will take us back to our origin, in our eternal identity, to the loving abode of the Divine Couple Sri Sri Radha Krishna, Goloka Vrindavan.
We should not be puffed up and take pride in academic degrees, wealth and fruitive actions. Rather, this human birth is perfected only by engaging in the devotional service of Supreme Lord Krishna through the chanting of the Hare Krishna Mahamantra under the shelter of the bonafide Spiritual Master and eventually we will attain the eternal blissful loving abode of the Divine Couple Sri Sri Radha Krishna, Goloka Vrindavan.
Today is the festival of Nanda Maharaj (Nandotsav). The inner meaning of this Nandotsav is to get the association of Supreme Lord Sri Krishna (the source of love, peace and happiness) and become transcendentally blissful. Sri Krishna is non-different from His Name, therefore the best way to celebrate Nandaostsav and get His association is by immersing ourselves in Krishna’s service through the chanting of the Hare Krishna Mahamantra and become eternally blissful.
Supreme Lord Sri Krishna appears in this world, for the purpose of rescuing the souls who have left His divine loving service and suffering in the material entanglement. We must celebrate this divine appearance day of Sri Krishna (Janmashtami) through constant chanting of the Hare Krishna Mahamantra and awaken our eternal unalloyed love for Him. Sri Krishna will be extremely pleased with this service and He will surely deliver us from the clutches of birth and death.
We know that Supreme Lord Krishna appeared in Kamsa’s jail on Janmashtami day and His foster parents were Yashoda Devi and Nanda Maharaj. In reality, Sri Krishna is always present in the heart of conditioned souls and He reveals Himself to those who purify their heart by immersing in His devotional service through the chanting of the Hare Krishna Mahamantra under the shelter of Guru Parampara. This is the essence of celebrating Janmashtami, the appearance day of Supreme Lord Sri Krishna in our heart, who is our eternal Spiritual Master.
